Posted on October 8, 2019October 9, 2019 by Robert

What a glorious feeling!  And so it was on Sunday when ESME members, family & friends braved serious flooding on the roads to enjoy 2019’s open day and see the progress a year has made.  Enjoy it they did!  The smiling faces, the queues for the trains, the consumption of the burgers and the positive Read more about Just Steaming In The Rain……[…]

Posted on September 19, 2019September 19, 2019 by Robert

With all the visibly rapid progression of the building it is easy to overlook the progress towards completing the bridges.  None the less there has been progress there too…… The whole of the viaduct was pressure washed to remove organic material and loose paint.  The next stage is wire brushing, further primer to any bare Read more about Keeping Track Of Progress….[…]

Clad All Over…..

Posted on September 19, 2019September 19, 2019 by Robert

On Saturday our Roving reporter submitted these pictures to the News Desk…..         Construction of the interior walls was well advanced, but still a Read more about Clad All Over…..[…]

Bathgate Probus Club Visit

Posted on August 21, 2019August 21, 2019 by Robert

Weather forecasts, who believes them?   The night before Met Office forecast predicted a wonderful sunny day.  At 10:00 it was wonderfully warm & sunny, so much so that Robert was setting up a Parasol for shade! Our visitors arrived 30 minutes early, but we were ready, both ‘Grace’ & the tea urn were up to Read more about Bathgate Probus Club Visit[…]

Modernising Old Lathes

Posted on August 19, 2019August 19, 2019 by Robert

This story is an example of the old adage ‘every cloud has a silver lining’, albeit a rather expensive one!  My old Boxford model ‘A’ lathe was obtained second hand from a school and whilst at the school someone had tried to put it into back gear whilst still running.  This resulted in the loss Read more about Modernising Old Lathes[…]
