With the easing of Covid restrictions this year’s meeting was held for the first time in the Heritage Centre & Museum building at Almondell. The Bathgate Locomotive Works Manager sent in this report on the progress with the boiler for ‘Maude’. The design is based primarily on the ‘Hermes’ with some detail from the ‘Dart’ & ‘Glen’ boilers. Our third public running day proved popular, passenger numbers remained steady throughout the day & ‘Andrew’s Tours’ proved very popular! The Paint Shop at the Bathgate Locomotive Works has been taking advantage of the recent hot weather to do a spot of painting: ‘Maude’ is looking resplendent in the coat of heat resistant black paint.
