Daniel Coupe won the award way back in 2020 mid pandemic times. Because of this it was only March of this year when relaxing of restrictions allowed the award ceremony to take place.
A small group of ESME members accompanied Daniel to the NRM, travelling down to York first class on the LNER Azuma. This turned out to be quite a nice train to travel in contrary to what Daniel had heard about them.
Daniel takes up the story: ‘On arrival we made our way to the conference room where the ceremony took place.
After the ceremony we had a good walk around the museum including a ride on the miniature railway (Which we could take a few notes from) & after a good look around the museum we made our way to the station to start the jorney home.
