The Farr Trophy is presented annually & was set up by Mr James Farr a past Secretary of the club.
The evening was well attended by members & there were plenty of excellent projects to vote on.
Kevan entered this vertical engine & 5″ gauge working headlamps
Alastair entered bogie frames for a battery electric locomotive built using 3D printing
James entered a boiler that he is building with help from Daniel & David
David himself entered a ‘Crampton’ boiler he is constructing plus a number of fittings
A grinder & other equipment
Trevor entered 7¼” Gauge ‘Larry’ which included a full write up on the project (click to enlarge the image)
Dave entered his 5″ ‘Dolphur’ which looked magnificent in blue. It’s a large model, hopefully we can persuade Dave to undertake passenger hauling on the Almondell circuit!
After all the votes were counted there were two equal runners up, Kevan & Trevor. The unanimous winner was ‘Dolphur’ & we see club chair Jeremy presenting the trophy to Dave.
Well done Dave, a superb model.
