Alastair is a member of the 2mm Fine Scale Society & the Forth & Clyde Valley area group hold their monthly get together at Almondell.
‘ESME have been hosting the 2mm fine scale society once a month for a couple of years now. It had all been agreed just prior to the pandemic but had to wait until socialising was more acceptable in these times. This arrangement came about because their membership was growing such that it wasn’t feasible to host meetings in members houses anymore. Almondell had underused space suitable for other clubs and societies to hire in such circumstances so offered (i.e. me) to help, after all that’s a reason the heritage centre was built. They really enjoy meeting at Almondell and show great interest and admiration in all that happens there – including the ‘dark side’ N gauge layout being constructed. The contrast in scales is something to behold and it’s something I wish other members would promote.’
