Uisge Beatha……..?

ESME’s track development guru, James, submitted photographs to the Newsdesk of the latest infrastructure development on his Ratho Railway.  A most impressive addition visually, it is perhaps something we should consider at Almondell to improve the aesthetics of the trackside?  James takes up the story:

‘Here are a selection of photos of the water column now installed in the garden.  It is based on the lower part of the original hot water cylinder which we replaced when we moved into the house in 1976.

It is supported on a steel column and supplied by an underground hose pipe, most of which was laid in over 20 years ago.  The advantage should be faster watering with no need to stop on the single line near the house to top up.’

**Stop Press!** The Newsdesk has received a photograph showing the water column in use on the Friday the boiler inspector called to test two engines…..
