Stan has dropped a line about a wee repair job he did recently for his grandson. As model engineers I am sure we are all well used to getting these requests. ‘Grandad, can you fix this please….?’ & the pleading eyes looking up to you……
‘This time it’s a repair for my 5 year old grandson, Adam, his small ladle. It was spot welded to the bowl but I have no facilities to do that so I resorted to drilling and tapping. Having a small selection to hand I turned to 9 BA. Drilled 1.55 mm and opened out the bowl to 5/64”. To be doubley sure, I finished off with JB epoxy mix.’
