Club members turned out to pay their respects to the fallen in all conflicts having been forced to miss 2020 due to CoVid restrictions.
The site opened at 9.35pm to allow plenty of time for steaming up & getting onto the track ready for the silence at 11:00
All present gathered at the signal box and Chris kept track of the time. At 11am ‘Morning Star’ and ‘Barbush’ blew their whistles followed by the two minute silence. Their whistles blew again to mark the end followed by Chris reading out a short eulogy for remembrance.
What followed was a good track running day and an adventure to get the three 5” gauge locomotives down the new track as far as Newliston Platform.
Weather was dry but dull and not too cold but just enough to creat puffs of steam and dramatic effects from the safety valves.
