After an enforced gap due to CoVid, the easing of restrictions meant that once again the SRPS could run their Santa Trains and ESME were invited to participate.
The club loco was dusted off, Daniel gave it a good look over and carried out a number of repairs & tweaks.
A familiarisation day for the nominated drivers was organised at Almondell which was well attended. This highlighted the timing in forward gear was a little out which Daniel sorted before the first event.
Saturday, 5th December dawned cold & clear with a forecast of rain later in the day…….!
Setting up proceeded, the rolling stock placed on the track & the locomotive ready for lighting up.
Steve set out the Christmas decorations……
And by 09:30 the first train of the day was away….

Unfortunately, on this occassion, the weather didn’t last. By lunchtime we were soaked to the skin & freezing cold.
The Sunday crew had a much better day with unbroken sunshine……..
Oh well, the joys of UK weather!
