Gas Proof….

The underfloor of the Heritage Centre & Museum is looking very colourful these days!

This is the gas membrane required to ensure that nothing noxious seeps into the building from the old underground workings.

If it can’t be seen from space at the moment we are sure that the pilots from Edinburgh Airport are finding it a useful guide……

It was not going to be long before it was covered in the next layer which protects the membrane from being punctured by the concrete floor

48 hours later and the shuttering and rebar is all in place awaiting the concrete.
