Although not of the top quality compared to today’s HD formats, this 13 minute film gives a good idea of the spirit of the club at track event days.
The film is now of historical value as it shows the former full ESME set up in the grounds of Newliston House. As you will have read elsewhere the club has since relocated to Almondell where the members constructed an extensive new railway and built the new Almondell Model Engineering Centre (AMEC).
On Saturday, 30th September 2017 the 5″ / 3.5″ gauge inner circuit was lifted at Newliston and the last ever steam up there was on Thursday, 28th December 2017. The outer 7.25″ / 5″ circuit was lifted shortly afterwards and all the trackwork transported to Almondell where the steel railed panels and points from the outer circuit were modified for re-use in building the new inner 5″ / 3.5″ circuit.
