Our grateful thanks go to Balfour Beatty & Network Rail for the visit of a lifetime, a trip to the top of the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. Network Rail kindly let us break the ‘journey’ with a tour under the bridge deck which is not granted to everyone. Our member who is professional driver for Virgin Trains requested the opportunity to wave to a colleague who would be crossing the bridge taking a train South. This was granted and in time honoured fashion his colleague acknowledged his cheery wave……..
The view from the top was ‘just awesome’ to quote everyone there. Judging from the number of members submitting pictures to the News desk it is plain to see why this is an appropriate description.
